The nose behind this fragrance is Arturetto Landi. Top notes are Seagrass, Mint, Lime, Melon, Fir, Basil, Pink Pepper, Black Currant, Big Strawberry, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Cardamom, Apple, Pineapple, Grapefruit, Ginger, Birch and Plum; middle notes are Artemisia, Juniper, Lotus, Cyclamen, Orchid, Jasmine, Rose and Neroli; base notes are Oakmoss, Cedar, Ambergris, Sandalwood, Leather, Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and White Musk. My hometown Lerici on the Italian Riviera does not have the name “the pearl in the Gulf of Poets” for no reason. During the Romantic period it was the favourite haunt of many poets, such as D.H. Lawrence, Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, Henry James, Paolo Mantegazza, Paolo Bertolani (a friend and local villager)or Virginia Woolf to name but a few, who found inspiration and harmony there. As a child I could open my window and look out onto the sea and the beach. The air I breathed has always stayed in my memory. Sea Moods reveals and represents this memory.A powerful, vibrant, exhilarating, cool, energizing aquatic accord, created in such a way that even as the fragrance builds in richness, depth and warmth the fresh marine aromatic feeling remains. This skilful blend of freshness and warmth is achieved through an exclusive and unique sea aromatic accord. It contains a complex of natural algae extracts, sea moss, pink pepper, cardamon, ginger, juniper and Mediterranean fir. Fine essences of citrus increase the purity and transparency of the scent. The heart is a bouquet of water flowers with a veil of transparent freshness, water lily, sea rose, wild cyclamen with their clear natural notes. The dry down supports the fragrance by giving it richness, sensuality and feelings of mystique. It is based on the precious ambergris which adds depth and emphasizes the whole marine character.
