Legend has it that this 25-metre tall garden was constructed in 600 BC by Emperor Nebuchadnezzar II, the king of Babylon, as a gift to please his homesick wife Queen Amytis. The Gardens were constructed by arranging terraces in tiers upon each other, with each level supported by cube-shaped pillars.
